Our Story
Knobbles took shape in 2024 when Josiah (Founder), and his sister—a pediatric dentist opening her first clinic—were talking about how to entertain young patients at the dentist without relying on yet another screen. Inspired by the hands-on fun of Lite-Brite in their childhood, Josiah went back home to his garage and built a modern day Lite-Brite that kids could twist and color by hand. That prototype turned into Knobbles, and Knobbles turned his sister's waiting room into a playful, screen-free oasis; becoming the blueprint for a modular screen free entertainment system that brings the same wow factor to any space.
Before long, we realized Knobbles could brighten up coffee shops, conference rooms, and beyond. Engineered and produced in-house, Knobbles slip right into your décor, scales from cozy corners to full-wall installations, and invites everyone—young and old—to stop, play, and enjoy a moment of wonder.

The Road So Far

Concept & Research
We identified a gap in child interaction while talking with family and other pediatric start-ups, and sketched out the first Knobbles concept—entertainment without the screen.

Prototype Development
Josiah Ferguson (Founder) started iterating - on what is now called Knobbles - in his garage, building from concepts he designed from scratch.
July 2025
First Customer!
Knobbles made its debut in a pediatric dentist's office in Wake Forest North Carolina, delighting young patients and validating our design in a real‑world setting.

Ready for the World
After a successful pilot and expanding our manufacturing, we're now ready to bring Knobbles to more spaces—helping schools, businesses, and communities create playful, screen-free moments everyone can enjoy.
